figurines
All 3” figurines are 50c
All 5” figurines are 75c
All 8” figurines are 1sThese figurines are freestanding with a non-detachable base. All have been finished with tung oil (non-toxic, hardens and protects the wood) that brings out the smooth grain, allowing the details to pop.
Animals:
Wolves: these 5” figurines depict a wolf with its head raised and alert, looking to the left as it holds one paw in the air.
Bears: these 8” figurines depict a powerful bear standing on its hind legs, front paws tucked up to its chest, head turned to the right.
Krytan hound: these figurines come in two varieties:
A 5” hound in the play-bow position, tail wagging and tongue out in a friendly grin.
A 5” hound mid-leap, attached to the base by its hind legs and stretching out its front paws in a powerful jump, ears pinned back as it springs on whatever has caught its attention.People:
-- Seraph: these figurines come in two varieties:
A 8” Seraph Captain in his winged helmet and full armor as he charges into battle. He holds an upraised sword and a shield, carved with the Seraph’s emblem, on his other arm. One foot is raised as he leans forward, giving the impression he is about to start running.
A 8” Seraph archer. Her long coat billows about her legs and her shoulder-length hair plays about her neck as if a strong wind is at her back, her bow raised and about to loose an arrow. One of her eyes is closed in concentration. A thin brown wire has been strung in place of a bowstring.-- Norn: these figurines come in two varieties:
A 5” male norn hunter in the furs and skins common to the Shiverpeaks. He crouches low to the ground, bow (strung with brown wire) carried close to his side, head tilted to the right as if listening to a sound far-off. His free hand reaches to the base, where a series of tracks (the paw prints of an arctodus, by the looks of it) have been carved.
A 8” female norn, dressed in the ceremonial armor of the Wolfborn, her hair in intricate braids. She grips a greatsword, tip driven into the ground at her feet, with both hands as she smiles proudly out at the viewer. A wolf stalks close behind her legs, eyes closed and head raised high in a howl.-- Sylvari: these figurines come in two varieties:
A 5” female Warden Captain in full armor, intricately detailed. One hand stretches out to point at her target, while her other hand, held behind and at the ready, holds a sword made from a thorn.
A 8” male sylvari hunter, standing tall and proud. His leafy hair is held back by a headband, and he wears a sturdy coat. In his left hand he grips a hunting axe. His right arm is held out and away from him, and a proud falcon perches on it. Both sylvari and falcon look toward the left.Objects
-- Golem: these figurines come in three varieties:
A 3” standard D-series with its right arm raised as if saying hello. The figure is slightly tilted to the left with the movement of its right arm, giving the impression it’s waving.
A 5” standard D-series, identical to the smaller 3” version.
A 5” standard D-series in the process of moving a crate. It carries a large square box (with the words Caution! Secret project! carved in New Krytan on the box’s top) in its outstretched arms, and one foot is raised as if moving forward.-- Choya: …is a choya an object, a person, an animal, or…? Whatever. It's a dingbat cactus lump. The 3” choya figurine stands in a typical pose with its arms and legs spread out and a slightly deranged grin on its lopsided face. While it is not painted, it appears to be of the blue variety found in Elona, with small rounded bumps on its head and a cactus flower crowning it. Gurgling, dancing, and fruit explosions not included, thankfully.
low-relief carvings
Low-relief describes a series of patterns or pictures carved in such a way that it is fully joined to its wooden base, as if rising out of it. (In contrast, high-relief would appear to almost float off of the wood, creating a 3D image by hiding where it is joined to its base.) All carvings have been finished with tung oil to bring out details and protect from wear.Welcome signs are 1s
Wall hangings are 75c
“Welcome!” signs: a sign measuring 24” wide, 6” high, and 1.5” deep. The word “Welcome” in stylized New Krytan is carved in intaglio (instead of being raised up from the wood, it is instead carved into the wood, creating a negative space). On either side are designs in low-relief. These designs are in a variety of styles: three depict flowers (roses, irises, or lilies), and one depicts Norn-inspired knotwork.Circular wall hangings: measures 12” in diameter and 1” deep. Like the welcome signs, these come in a variety of styles, all in low-relief:
- A single blossoming rose on a thorny stem, surrounded by rose leaves
- A bouquet of lilies, surrounded by its leaves
- A trio of bearded irises on their stems, with iris leaves in the background
- The Krytan emblem - a proud griffon, wings raised, over a stylized representation of the crown
puppets and toys
Keep in mind that while these simple toys will not splinter, linden wood is a relatively soft wood. Dents are not uncommon with rough play, but that shouldn’t impact enjoyment or performance. If necessary, contact Jiahao for a free replacement.
Puppets—
These simple puppets are carved with less detail than the figurines above, and have not been finished, but have been sanded to prevent splinters and breakage, creating a smooth exterior. Fully paintable! Strings used are high-quality jute and will not easily break or fray.
- Golems: Standard D-series, with strings glued and tied into the fully articulated joints. Strings attached to the control rod connect at the head, both arms, and both legs.
- Dogs: A stylized Krytan hound, with an oversized head, big eyes, and equally big paws. Fully articulated joints tied by strings. Strings attached to the control rod connect at the head (allowing the jaw to loosely flop about as the head moves), all four paws, the base of the back, and the tip of the tail.
- Human: A stylized Seraph in full armor, with an oversized winged helmet, comically large sword gripped in his left hand, and large feet. Fully articulated joints tied by strings. Strings attached to the control rod connect at the head, both hands, and both feet.
Puppets are roughly 10” high. All are 75c.Lu Ban Locks--
Interlocking puzzles, also called Lu Ban locks after the Canthan man who allegedly invented them, are carved sticks of wood that fit together in a pattern. The challenge is to figure out which stick goes where when putting the puzzle together. A challenging, mind-bending game that tests your knowledge of spatial relationships, appropriate for all ages. Wood has been stained and finished to bring out details in the grain.
- Burr puzzle: This puzzle is in the shape of a ball, with the interlocking pieces sticking out in rounded spikes, like the burr it's named for. Roughly 4" in diameter.
- Osmanthus puzzle: Named for the Canthan flower it resembles, this puzzle is a perfect smooth sphere. Roughly 3" in diameter.
Puzzles are 75c each.Toys--
Simple pull-toys, attached to a wheeled base. Sanded and stained to ensure lasting quality. The rope used is sturdy, high-quality jute (6mm), glued onto a strip of thin leather like a harness on the toy with non-toxic glue. Rope is 5’ long with a 10” knotted handle at the end. Wheels are carved from hard white maple - it will not dent easily (but is still gentle on flooring!). On all, the rope and harness are attached to the chest, and the wheels can rotate to either side and turn independently.
- Horse: A proud steed, lovingly carved to stand straight at attention.
- Dog: A sweet, fluffy Labrador, tail raised as if wagging.
- Fern hound: The leafy companion of many a sylvari, tail sweeping to the left. All sharp edges have been blunted to create a softer, less spiky look.
All pull-toys are roughly 15” high. All are 1s. (Available by special order only; contact Jiahao for details.)Weapons--
These are not made from linden wood as the rest of the shop's wares, but rather from hard white maple - sturdy and will not splinter. Appropriate for children and children-at-heart of all races. Available by special order only; contact Jiahao for exact sizing details.
- Swords: A typical wooden sword with a cross-guard. The tip and edges have been blunted and rounded to prevent injury.
- Shields: A circular concave shield with your choice of design emblazoned onto it in low-relief - either the Krytan emblem, one of the three Colleges of Rata Sum, a floral design (roses or lilies), Norn-inspired knotwork, or one of three High Legion designs (Iron's cogwheel, Ash's black sun, Blood's sword). Two sturdy leather straps are bolted to the shield's interior for easy carrying.
Swords and shields are 50c each, no matter the exact size - a sword made to fit a progeny will cost the same as a shield made for a norn child.- Note: for personalized toy commissions, there is an added cost of 25c. Ask Jiahao for details!

about bai jiahao
Bai Jiahao has never been sure how to write one of these "about" pages, because it forces him to refer to himself in the third person. Given that he is not a quaggan, he finds this absurdly awkward. (Almost as awkward as explaining to people, "No, Bai is my family name...") But he has to start somewhere, so he may as well stop griping about third-person writing woes and answer the question already.
He grew up in the Canthan Arts District of Divinity’s Reach before the Great Collapse. After the Great Collapse, things were difficult. He used to work as a night watchman/caravan guard for Bhelen Shipping Co., a local trade company based out of the Western Commons in Divinity’s Reach.
Shenanigans happened, the company dissolved, and Jiahao now works for Shaarkhawk Shipping and Acquisitions Co. as a salvage diver and security guard.
His hobbies include woodworking, learning obsolete languages, and wondering if he's hit the word quota on "about" pages yet.[OOC: You can contact Jiahao by sending him an in-game mail, preferably an IC letter. He'll get back to you within a day or two!]
